Tableau Consultant

UN-OCHA is currently looking to hire a person to assist develop our business intelligence (BI) and visualization services. The person must demonstrate skills in data management and data visualization. The data skills should include experience with variety of database platforms and technologies, ETL, and experience with connectors to Web based APIs, data warehouse cubes and other data sources. The data visualization skills require experience using Tableau technology to present the data with graphical components and charts for non-technical users. The new client driven BI and visualization services require the consultant to quickly understand business requirements and use Tableau technology to provide data driven insights into the clients business.

Primary duties of this position include:

 Analyzing the use of data and interpreting data directly in Tableau visualization against requirements.

 Gathering, documenting, and designing data integration and data visualization requirements for humanitarian projects.

 Use Tableau to rapidly generate impactful, interactive visualizations compatible with mobile devices.

 Create complex actions which will dynamically refresh each worksheet in the dashboards.

 Regularly demonstrate and implement the numerous capabilities of Tableau Desktop, such as multisource dashboards, data blending, table calculations, advanced calculated fields, advanced statistical analysis, guided analytics, custom geocoding, etc. Skills and Experience

 A minimum of 2 years of proven experience with Tableau. Additional experience in data visualization using products such as D3.js, Qlik, MS Power BI, Pentaho, MicroStrategy is also highly valued.

 Strong knowledge of capabilities, functionality, and behaviors of BI reporting tools such as Tableau Software.

 Strong analytical skills; ability to analyze raw data, draw conclusions, and understand how best to visualize

 Demonstrated experience in Map presentation, SQL scripting, data cubes.

 Excellent enterprise and application level data profiling, architecture, modeling, and analysis skills.

 Knowledge of ETL principles and a history of executing ETL plans as they relate to data discovery tools.

 Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.

 Demonstrated commitment to providing client focused BI and visualization services.

 Experience working in a fast-paced environment managing and meeting multiple deadlines and priorities.

Duration: 3 months

Work Schedule: Geneva, Switzerland timezone hours – 9am to 6pm
